I don't know who has noticed, but it's been some time since I've posted here. A number of things have disrupted my forward motion in pressuring PS:1, although I'm not entirely derailed... just set back.
As of March, some serious issues have arisen in my life: a kidney bleed led to a cancer diagnosis, my Dad fell into a coma and died with no answers as to why, I had surgery to remove my kidney, and I'm struggling to keep my Dad's house. Pretty much all at once. The kidney bleed was in early March, my Dad's death was in mid April, and I've been trying to manage ever since.
For now, while I manage the transfer of my Dad's house into my name, debate my next move concerning PS:1, and deal with recovering after surgery (which was a month ago), I've had to swallow my pride and admit... I need help.
Dad's house comes with a remaining mortgage of about $7,000, and I was hoping to get the house in my name and get a caretaker installed quickly, to cover that payment. Instead, lawyers have been disinterested (until recently), and I've ended up paying the mortgage payment out of pocket. Now my reserve is pretty much gone, and I'm juggling living poor while recovering from surgery with managing the "Dad's house" situation remotely. On top of that, of course, is a LOT of medical bills I'm accumulating from dealing with cancer.
It's been hard.
Anyways, for now, I've set up a GoFundMe, to help deal with my immediate expenses. I'm sharing the link here; I could really use help with these immediate expenses, so I'm not relying on food pantries to make it to the end of the month, but, of course, I'm also going to need help covering the larger cancer-related expenses, if that scale of help comes along.
In the meantime, getting the house in my name will provide access to resources I need to take a stronger position concerning PS:1's misogyny, discrimination, and deceptive public conceits. I'm not giving up on this fight, even if I am swamped with other troubles.
The GoFundMe link. Please help if you can; if you can't donate, at least share it with your online communities. Sharing it around has already had an impressive impact!
